Valve Design and Control

When it comes to designing and manufacturing products to be used on dangerous chemicals it is critical that quality is at the heart of our processes. When Hunt & Mitton were first asked to design a valve that could safely be used on hazardous chemical applications in the 1950s, the safety of those using the products and the ability of the product to repeatably work well has driven our design and manufacturing processes.

Understanding how these chemicals react, which materials are compatible and which design details are critical have enabled us to produce products that will perform under these difficult applications. A dedication to detail from fine tolerances in machining and testing to quality checks throughout our supply chain ensure that when the product leaves our factory it will perform well in the field.

Our manufacturing processes are approved by Lloyds Register to ISO9001. They have also approved our Quality Management System as meeting the requirements of Module H of the European Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU. Our product design, supply chain and manufacturing processes are also approved by Euro Chlor for the manufacture of valves for use on chlorine applications. Our Globe valves are certified to SIL level 3 capable in accordance with IEC 61508:2010 parts 1, 2, 3 and 4.
