When our customer decided to build their liquid chlorine skid at their plant in Dahej, they fitted Hunt & Mitton Bellows sealed valves. The liquid chlorine pumping skid provides feed for the manufacturing process of Aluminium Chloride.
Hunt & Mitton were asked to supply the manual and actuated isolation valves to ensure tight and safe shut off of the liquid chlorine. The valves having been fully tested for seat leakage, actuation and double checked for casting wall thickness, to ensure no chance of porosity and exceeding the standard specifications which is our normal production process, it was no surprise that the valves passed the start-up and commissioning process to the plant operators satisfaction. A total of 8 valves were used on this skid.
As is now accepted, after years of investigations, carefully designed bellows sealed valves are the prime option in the battle against fugitive emissions. Of even more importance, preventing gas escapes keeps the operators safer and ensures that these hazardous chemicals are kept away from people and out of the environment.
