Hydrogen Cyanide Valve Replacement

Date: 2018
Location: China
Customer: ******

Problem:

A competitor valve had suffered a crack of the diaphragm housing due to persistent heavy vibration caused by sudden and erratic travel of the spindle. This in turn created process problems and a danger to the operators.

Solution:

Replaced the existing actuated valve with Hunt & Mitton Series 8851 Piston Actuated bellows sealed valve DN150 fitted with high chemical resistant material options including a CF8M stainless steel cast body and bonnet with our Euro chlor approved valve design. This valve has now been in operation for more than two years without any problems. The end user is very happy with our advice and the selection criteria used to manufacture the valve and solve their problem.

Benefit:

The valves have been opening and closing smoothly without causing any vibration or damaging the seats or critical seals that prevent a loss of dangerous gas. The process control is stable and the gas is safely contained within the valve.

Hunt and Mitton:

Hunt & Mitton has a long history of producing valves for hazardous chemicals dating back to the 1950s. We believe that better design, material choices and attention to detail in manufacture, equates to a lower cost of ownership for our customers.
